Historically, standardisation has been divided into three domains on the international, regional and sometimes on the national level as well: electrotechnology, telecommunications and other domains.
In order to narrow the domain concept, the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN), has divided its activities into sectors, a list of which is available on the website of CEN.
