  This document applies to the following groups of machines: - Packaging Machines for use in work places by workers which are listed in EN 415-1. This document applies if machines or hazards are not dealt with in the more specific standards of EN 415 or where these standards refer to this document. NOTE 1 For machines used in public accessed areas different or additional requirements can apply. The manufacturer should make an additional risk assessment. This document deals with safety requirements for design, construction, installation, commissioning, operation, adjustment, maintenance and cleaning of packaging machines. The extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and events are covered is indicated in 4.
