Standardi uustöötluse peamised muutused on: - lisatud nõuded ning põhimõtted geograafiliste MCC-de piires mobiiltelefonivõrgu koodide (MNC-de) ja riigile täiendava MCC määramiseks; - lisatud nõuded ja põhimõtted abonendi identifitseerimisnumbri (MSIN) kasutamisele geograafiliste MCC-de piires; - lisatud nõuded ning põhimõtted muus riigis kui selles, millele on TSB Direktoraat MCC määranud MCC + MNC kasutamise; - lisatud näited E.212 kohase ressursikasutamise kohta; - lisatud vormid eksterritoriaalse MCC/MNC kasutamise ning selle tühistamise teatamiseks.

This Recommendation describes a unique and unambiguous identification plan for subscriptions and the format of the IMSI. It establishes procedures for the assignment of fields of the IMSI in a manner that prevents duplication.
