This part of the European Prestandard specifies the information to be registered for information objects used in EDI for the purpose of information interchange related to healthcare. The information objects and the information relating to them are recorded in a way which is designed to be independent of interchange format and to facilitate the use of the information objects to construct imple- mentable message specifications. This E.P. does not cover the registration of information objects which fall within layers 1-7 of the Basic Reference Model ofOpen Systems Interconnection ISO 7498.
