Levels of standardisation

Recognised standards are drafted on three levels:

  • globally recognised international (ISO, IEC, and ITU) standards;
  • regionally recognised standards, e.g. European (CEN, CENELEC, and ETSI) standards;
  • within a country recognised national (e.g. EVS) standards

The drafting process for standards published in all three levels follows uniform general principles of standardisation.
