The current Estonian standard applies to liquid fuels produced from kukersite oil shale. In the context of the standard the Estonian shale oil is divided into two fractions according to their boiling point (boiling point is determined by the standard EVS-EN ISO 3405): — Light fraction (boiling point between 30-210°C); — Middle-heavy fraction (boiling point above 150°C). The standard is determining values of the main parameters (e.g. density, viscosity, elemental composition, ash content, etc.) of shale oil fractions and respective determination methods/standards.
