Esmaversioonis „Kukersiitpõlevkivi tuhasuse määramine“ oli vaatluse all vaid Eesti põlevkivi. Standardi uustöötluses käsitletakse eri maardlatest pärit põlevkivi ning selle kuumtöötlemise ja põletamise jääkide tuhasuse määramise meetodit, seetõttu on pealkiri muudetud kui „Põlevkivi tuhasuse määramine“.
Standardis on tehtud struktuurilisi muudatusi, lisatud uuendusi ja redigeeritud teksti. Lisatud on järgmised peatükid: „Terminid ja määratlused“, „Meetodite olemus“, „Proovi ettevalmistamine“, „Tulemuste arvutamine“, lisa A ja „Kirjandus“.
This Estonian standard specifies a method for the determination of the ash of oil shale from various deposits or solid residues from its thermal processing and combustion.
In this standard, ash is determined on samples of trade oil shale, oil shale used for research, enrichment residue and other samples of the above- mentioned substances taken and prepared for analysis in accordance with EVS 668.
NOTE The ash yield depends on the amount of inorganic compounds in oil shale or in the solid residues of its thermal processing and combustion, and the conditions of incineration. Therefore, in order to ensure comparability in the determination of ash, it is necessary to strictly observe the conditions of combustion.
