Materjalide tööstuse arenedes on paranenud isolatsioonimaterjalide omadused. Sellest tulenevalt on selle standardi uustöötlusega muudetud isolatsioonimaterjalide tehnilisi näitajaid, eriti polüuretaanisolatsioonil. Lisaks on muudetud materjalidele esitatavaid nõudeid ning täiendatud ja täpsustatud materjalide paigalduse juhtnööre. Muudetud on isolatsioonimaterjalide klassifikatsiooni, ja materjali täieliku standardikohase nimetuse moodustamise korda ning lisatud rahvusvahelised tähised ja uue materjalina polüisotsüanüraat (PIR).
