Although the standard’s status is withdrawn, it still has the presumption of conformity in the meaning of regulation 2014/34/EU and conformance with the regulation ’s requirements can be guaranteed by using the withdrawn version of the standard. The presumption of conformity is valid until a corresponding amendment is published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

This European Standard test method is designed to determine the auto ignition temperature of a flammable gas or vapour in mixture with air, or air/inert gas, at ambient pressure up to 650 °C. It is not suitable to describe the interactions of hot surfaces with explosives.
