Quality management systems - Requirements

This International Standard specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization a) needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and b) aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

International Accreditation Forum has established 3-year transition period to ISO 9001:2015 with end date on 15th September 2018.

Although the standard’s status is withdrawn, it still has the presumption of conformity in the meaning of regulation 765/2008 and conformance with the regulation’s requirements can be guaranteed by using the withdrawn version of the standard. The presumption of conformity is valid until a corresponding amendment is published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
