IEC 62368-1 applies to audio, video, information, and communication technology equipment, as well as business and office machines with a rated voltage of up to 600V. It identifies different types of energy sources and outlines safety measures to protect against these sources. These measures, known as safeguards, are designed to reduce the risk of pain and injury or property damage from fire.

The main text and the consolidated version which consists of the main text and the amendment can be found in the standard’s history. EN IEC 62368-1:2020/A11:2020 modifies the European standard EN IEC 62368-1:2020.
