Although the standard’s status is withdrawn, it still has the presumption of conformity in the meaning of regulation 2006/42/EC and conformance with the regulation ’s requirements can be guaranteed by using the withdrawn version of the standard. The presumption of conformity is valid until a corresponding amendment is published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

Directive 2006/42/EC (Machinery) Notice: With regard to its point 6.6.2.2.3.1, the harmonised standard EN ISO 19085-3:2017 does not confer a presumption of conformity with the essential health and safety requirement set out in point 1.4.1 of Annex I to Directive 2006/42/EC, which requires that guards and protective devices must not be easy to by-pass.

This international standard deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events, listed in Clause 4, relevant to NC boring machines, NC routing machines and NC combined boring/routing machines (as defined in 3.2.1), herein after referred to as "machines", designed to cut solid wood and material with similar physical characteristics to wood, when they are operated, adjusted and maintained as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manufacturer including reasonably foreseeable misuse. Also transport, assembly, dismantling, disabling and scrapping phases have been taken into account.
