EVS-IEC 60050-195:2021

This part o f IEC 60050 gives the f undamental terms and d efinitions concerning earthing and
protection ag ainst electric shock. This new ed ition reviews and complements the p revious one.
It has the status of a ho rizontal publication in accordance with IEC Guide 108, Guidelines for
ensuring the coherence of IEC publications – Horizontal functions, horizontal publications and
their application.
This terminology is consistent with the terminology developed in the o ther specialized p arts of
the IEV.
This horizontal publication is primarily intended f or use by technical committees in the
preparation o f IEC publications in accordance with the p rinciples laid down in IEC Guide 108.
One of the responsibilities o f a technical committee is, wherever applicable, to make use of
horizontal publications in the p reparation of its p ublications.
