This European Standard specifies requirements for and gives recommandations on the design, installation, alteration, testing, maintenance and operation of drinking water installations within buildings and for certain purposes pipework outside buildings but within the premises (see figure 1).
It covers the system of pipes, fittings and connected appliances installed for supplying potable water.
