EVS 840:2023

This Estonian standard has been prepared to provide guidance for designers and builders of radon safe construction of the building, in order to avoid exceeding the level of radon, which increases the risk of lung cancer, given in the relevant legislation, in rooms where people stay for a long time.
In the standard there is a variety of radon-prone reduction measures. It is needed to consider that this list and solutions are not exhaustive and there might be other solutions to ensure radon safety, for which effectiveness is examined and documentally proved. Considering the special features of the object and the purpose of the rooms to be used, design and construction must be approached on a case-by-case basis.
