See standard on standardi EVS 848:2013 edasiarendus ja erineb eelnevast nii mahu kui ka sisu poolest. Selles uustöötluses on täiendatud olemasolevaid peatükke, et anda täpsemat informatsiooni projekteerijatele ja ehitustööde tegijatele. Arvestades erialainseneride praktilisi kogemusi, on täpsustatud termineid, esitatud terminite ingliskeelne tõlge, muudetud võrguelementide seletusi jms. Standardisse on lisatud teemaga seotud oluliste Euroopa standardite loetelu, aidates sellega orienteeruda valdkonnas ja pakkuda insenerile tehniliste lahenduste väljatöötamisel eeskuju.
Peamine muudatus võrreldes standardiga EVS 848:2013 seisneb selles, et selles standardis on uuendatud sademevee arvutuste aluseid, muudatuse aluseks on Eesti Maaülikooli koostatud uurimistöö „Sademeveesüsteemide projekteerimise aluste kaasajastamine“ (KIK projekt nr 15589, EMÜ 2020). Sademevee arvutuste alused on ühtlustatud standardiga EVS 846. See standardi uustöötlus on ajakohastatud kogu ulatuses.
This Estonian standard applies to sewerage networks outside the building, i.e. from the last / outlet of the building (from the outer wall of the building) (EVS 846) or from the gutter to the place where the sewage water reaches the wastewater treatment plant or the sewage outlet. Pipelines under the building belong to the sewerage network if they are not part of the sewerage system of the building.
The standard specifies the functional requirements for the sewerage network in relation to planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance and operation, and the activities to meet the requirements.
